DAY 1–WHAT DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH OF?

Let’s kick off this challenge with the introduction of a special concept: “Sufficiency," a state-of-being that is in touch with all the resources, both inner and outer, that you each have in any given moment. Sufficiency does not mean living in denial or with an absence of aspiration. It just means that you are fully aware of what is in your life, and that you are not blinded by the things you don’t have. Today, then, reflect on your places of sufficiency. List them down. As we learn to be attentive to what we have, we discover true abundance!

So, for today’s question, What do you have enough of?

    1. Thank you, Satya! Welcome to our gratitude challenge. And oh how I love that you wrote that beauty surrounds you. Beauty is an abundance I also have but never thought to include until you mentioned it. Beauty is such a great gift. Thank you for the reminder.

  2. I have a lot of abundance in my life, and I must say that I barely take notice. Here are some of the things I can identify on the spot. Soaps—I have an abundance of soaps. Dead Sea minerals soaps…lemongrass soap…shea butter and argan oil soap…lavender olive oil soap…cardamom and French green clay soap…are some of the soaps I received as gifts this year, and I love every one. My soap basket is full! Incense—I have plenty of incense so that I can reach for one every day and still have a full bounty. Candles, I have the most wonderful fragrant candles. And exquisite lotions. I have many great books to read and an endless availability of music. I don’t make as good use of the opportunities to read and listen to music, not as much as my spirit needs, but the abundance is there for me to draw from. Good, nourishing food. Beautiful, colorful scarves, and lots of them—that doesn’t mean I don’t get excited about a new beautiful scarf, because I love my abundance of pretty scarves. Toilet paper (I know I ran out when it was time for our last meditation and Mustafa, the first to arrive, ran to the store to get some before meditations began, but now I have plenty of toilet paper). These are just a few of what I have enough of.

  3. I wrote a long message but my name didn’t show, so I clicked on “sign out”, and my words disappeared! I wonder if maybe I have “enough words” and to leave it at that...
